These Terms of Use explain the rules for using the Cheese Hub website, member areas, resources, community spaces, campaign materials and digital tools.

Cheese Hub is a shared digital platform for cheesemakers, cheesemongers, suppliers and partners in the cheese sector. It provides practical support, shared campaigns, learning resources, tools, insights and community activity.

By using Cheese Hub, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree with them, you should not use the website or member areas.

1. Who we are

Cheese Hub is operated by Lighthouse Digital Marketing Ltd.

Organisation: Lighthouse Digital Marketing Ltd
Project name: Cheese Hub
Registered address: [Insert registered address]
Company number: [Insert company number]
VAT number: [Insert VAT number, if applicable]
Email: [Insert contact email]

When we say “we”, “us” or “our”, we mean Cheese Hub and Lighthouse Digital Marketing Ltd.

When we say “you”, we mean any visitor, member, supporter, contributor, partner or user of Cheese Hub.

2. Other terms that may apply

These Terms of Use should be read alongside our:

Privacy Policy
Cookie Policy
Membership Terms
Community Guidelines
Contributor Terms
Refund and Cancellation Policy, if applicable

If you buy a paid membership, event ticket, course, digital resource or service, additional terms may apply at the point of purchase. For online sales, UK government guidance says businesses should provide certain information before an order is placed, including business details, a description of the goods or services, pricing and payment information.

If there is a conflict between these Terms of Use and specific Membership Terms or purchase terms, the more specific terms will apply to that purchase or membership.

3. Using the Cheese Hub website

You may use the Cheese Hub website and resources for lawful business, learning, community and professional purposes.

You must not use Cheese Hub:

in any way that breaks the law;

to upload or share harmful, abusive, misleading, defamatory or discriminatory content;

to infringe someone else’s copyright, trade mark, privacy or other rights;

to send spam or unwanted marketing messages;

to interfere with the security, performance or availability of the website;

to copy, scrape, harvest or extract content or data without permission;

to misrepresent your identity, business, role or relationship with another organisation;

to use Hub content in a way that damages the reputation of Cheese Hub, Lighthouse or other members.

We may restrict, suspend or remove access if we reasonably believe these terms have been broken.

4. Accounts and member access

Some parts of Cheese Hub may require an account or paid membership.

You are responsible for keeping your login details safe. You must not share your account access with anyone else unless your membership level allows team access.

You are responsible for activity that takes place through your account.

You must provide accurate information when creating an account, joining as a member, booking an event, downloading a resource or taking part in a campaign.

We may update, suspend or close accounts where we reasonably believe there has been misuse, non-payment, a security risk, or a breach of these terms.

5. Memberships, paid content and digital resources

Cheese Hub may offer paid memberships, courses, workshops, campaign kits, templates, downloads, digital tools, events or other services.

The details of what is included in each membership or paid offer will be shown on the relevant page at the time of purchase.

We may update, improve, replace or remove Hub content over time. Cheese Hub is intended to be a living platform, not a fixed library.

Paid memberships and purchases may also be subject to separate Membership Terms, payment terms, cancellation rules and refund rules.

Consumer rights may apply where an individual buys goods, services or digital content remotely or online. GOV.UK explains that consumer protection law covers goods, services and digital content bought remotely or in person.

6. Community spaces and member contributions

Cheese Hub may include discussion spaces, comments, feedback areas, workshops, events, campaign submissions and other community features.

You are responsible for anything you post or submit.

You must not post content that is unlawful, abusive, misleading, confidential, discriminatory, offensive, commercially spammy or harmful to others.

You must not share someone else’s personal information, private messages, confidential business information, images, documents or intellectual property without permission.

We may moderate, edit, hide or remove content where we think it breaks these terms, our Community Guidelines or the purpose of the Hub.

We may also remove content that is off-topic, low quality, overly promotional or likely to undermine a helpful and supportive community.

7. Campaign materials and shared resources

Cheese Hub may provide campaign kits, templates, prompts, checklists, graphics, written guidance, social post ideas, email prompts, downloadable tools and other shared resources.

Unless we say otherwise, these materials are provided for use by Cheese Hub members in connection with their own cheese business, campaign activity or learning.

You may adapt Hub templates and campaign materials for your own business, provided you do not:

resell them as standalone products;

claim you created the original Hub materials;

remove copyright or attribution notices where these are required;

use them in a misleading, unlawful or harmful way;

share paid member-only materials publicly without permission;

use them to promote products, services or campaigns unrelated to the intended purpose.

Some campaign materials may include partner, supporter or sponsor involvement. Where that happens, any specific usage rules will be explained with the campaign.

8. Intellectual property

Unless stated otherwise, the Cheese Hub website, brand, structure, written content, playbooks, templates, graphics, videos, downloads, campaign materials, digital tools and other resources are owned by or licensed to Lighthouse Digital Marketing Ltd.

All rights are reserved.

You may view, download and use Hub materials for your own permitted business or learning purposes, depending on your membership level and the access rules for that material.

You must not copy, reproduce, sell, publish, distribute, licence, adapt or commercially exploit Cheese Hub content outside the permitted use without written permission.

The names, logos and brands of members, contributors, supporters, partners and sponsors remain the property of their respective owners.

9. Content you submit

You may choose to submit comments, feedback, questions, examples, campaign ideas, case studies, images, resources, templates, business information or other content to Cheese Hub.

You retain ownership of content you submit, unless agreed otherwise.

By submitting content, you give us permission to use, store, display, reproduce, adapt and share it as reasonably needed to operate Cheese Hub, provide member services, support campaigns, improve resources and manage community activity.

We will ask for permission before using identifiable quotes, case studies, images or business examples in public marketing, unless you have clearly submitted them for that purpose.

You confirm that you have the right to submit the content and that it does not infringe anyone else’s rights.

10. Sponsored and supported campaigns

Cheese Hub may run campaigns that are supported by founding supporters, sponsors, suppliers, partners or other sector organisations.

The purpose of these campaigns is to provide useful, practical material that helps cheesemakers, cheesemongers and consumers, not simply to distribute adverts.

Sponsor or supporter involvement will be made clear where appropriate.

We do not guarantee that a sponsored or supported campaign will achieve a particular level of sales, reach, engagement, enquiries or member participation.

11. AI tools, prompts and generated content

Cheese Hub may provide AI prompts, templates, experiments, guidance or tools.

These are provided to help members work more confidently and save time, but they should not replace your own judgement.

You are responsible for checking any AI-assisted content before using it.

You should not enter sensitive personal information, confidential business information or private customer data into AI tools unless the tool clearly explains how that information will be used and you are comfortable with that use.

We do not guarantee that AI-generated outputs will be accurate, original, complete, lawful, suitable for your business or free from errors.

12. Information and guidance

Cheese Hub content is provided for general information, learning and practical support.

We aim to keep content useful, clear and up to date, but we do not promise that all information will always be complete, accurate or suitable for your specific circumstances.

You should use your own judgement before acting on any guidance, template, campaign idea, marketing suggestion, technical recommendation or business advice.

Where necessary, you should take professional advice from an appropriate specialist, such as a solicitor, accountant, tax adviser, food safety adviser, technical consultant or other qualified professional.

13. Third-party links and tools

Cheese Hub may link to third-party websites, platforms, tools, services, resources, events or partner content.

We are not responsible for third-party websites or services, and we do not control their content, availability, privacy practices or terms.

If you use a third-party platform or service, you are responsible for checking its own terms, privacy policy and suitability for your business.

14. Availability and changes to the Hub

We aim to keep Cheese Hub available and useful, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access.

We may update, pause, remove, replace or change parts of the website, member area, resources, campaigns, tools or community features at any time.

We may also carry out maintenance, fix issues, improve content, change platform features or update access rules.

Where changes materially affect paid memberships, we will try to communicate them clearly.

15. Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so. This includes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot legally be excluded.

Subject to that, Cheese Hub and Lighthouse Digital Marketing Ltd will not be responsible for:

business losses;

loss of profits, sales, revenue or opportunities;

loss of goodwill or reputation;

loss of data;

interruption to business;

indirect or consequential losses;

decisions you make based on Hub content, templates, campaigns, tools or guidance;

third-party websites, services, tools or platforms;

member or contributor content posted by other users.

If you are a paid member or customer, our total liability to you in connection with the relevant paid service will be limited to the amount you paid for that service in the 12 months before the issue arose, unless the law says otherwise.

16. Ending or suspending access

We may suspend or end your access to Cheese Hub if:

you breach these terms;

you breach our Community Guidelines;

you fail to pay applicable fees;

you misuse Hub content or member-only materials;

you act in a way that harms the Hub, other members or the wider community;

we need to protect the security or integrity of the platform;

we are required to do so by law.

If your access is suspended or ended, you must stop using member-only content and any materials that are not licensed for ongoing use.

17. Privacy and cookies

We use personal information in line with our Privacy Policy.

We use cookies and similar technologies in line with our Cookie Policy.

You should read both documents to understand how we collect, use, store and protect information.

18. Changes to these Terms of Use

We may update these Terms of Use from time to time.

When we make changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.

If the changes are significant, we may notify members by email, through the Hub, or by another reasonable method.

By continuing to use Cheese Hub after changes take effect, you agree to the updated terms.

19. Governing law

These Terms of Use are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

The courts of England and Wales will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute relating to these terms, unless consumer law gives you the right to bring a claim somewhere else.
